RCZ Technology
LONGi’s RCZ silicon crystal-growing technology is widely used in the solar industry and features large charging capacity, high-speed crystal growth , and multiple loading capabilities.
Diamond Wire Wafer-Slicing Technology
A key technology driver in volume PV wafer production, LONGi’s diamond wire wafer-slicing technology has resulted in savings of at least ¥30 billion in annual production costs across the entire industry.
PERC Cell Technology
Our PERC solar cell technology solved the initial degradation issues that monocrystalline silicon products faced for years, and has accelerated cell efficiencies dramatically.
Bifacial Technology
The efficiency of our PERC cell modules continues to set new world records, with shipments and market share growing year by year.
Solar for Solar
LONGi supports the “Solar for Solar” business model. While creating low-cost clean energy products for the world, the company uses clean energy and green manufacturing practices in its operations whenever possible. Since 2015, LONGi has located its operations in Yunnan, China, and Kuching, Malaysia, to utilize the abundant local hydropower resources to provide clean energy for its facilities. LONGi plans to integrate solar power plants with pumped storage in areas that feature significant elevation differences and abundant sunlight, creating an industrial model for using solar.
Learn More
In 2018, Li Zhenguo, founder and president of LONGi, visited Cambridge University while attending a PhD program at Tsinghua University. During the visit, Professor Martin Reese, a renowned astrophysicist and former Dean of Trinity College in Cambridge University, depicted a prediction of what the Earth might look in 2050, emphasizing that the ecological damage caused by human activities in the past 100 years was still increasing and might be irreparable. Reese shared his serious concerns about the Earth’s future in his teaching. Stephen Hawking, the world-famous physicist, also predicted that human beings will be forced to leave the earth by 2060 because of energy depletion. Then human survival will be threatened at that time. Many great minds have underestimated the speed at which PV is growing and the contributions it can make to the planet’s ecology and health. LONGi believes that PV can change the ecology of this planet, which is another reason for the development of the “Solar for Solar” model.
1986
LONGi is named after the former president of Lanzhou University. In 1986, when Li Zhenguo and Zhong Baoshen had just enrolled, the formal opening ceremony of Lanzhou University was held before the statue of its president, Jiang Longji.
